Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica of Saint John the Baptist

Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica of Saint John the Baptist

While visiting recently visiting Puerto Rico in my vacations, I was able to capture this beautiful glance at the Catedral at  Old San Juan in Puerto Rico. I would admit, from the outside the cathedral is very simple and wasn’t expecting the amazing interior. This cathedral was originally built in 1521, although this cathedral was struck by a hurricane in 1540, it was reshaped and reconstructed to the original. It actually contains the body(well remainings) of Ponce de Leon(kinda creepy). This cathedral is very popular among religious people in the city of San Juan. I really enjoyed the details of the ceilings of this cathedral. Although I haven’t been to really fancy and big cathedrals like I have seen in class, this really gave me a glimpse of the experience.
