Petra

When I was in Jorden every summer we went to visit a monument. Petra was one of them it is a really interesting place. Before we can get to the place we have to walk between a narrow road because a car wont fit. The structure is really old and the color of the rocks are really beautiful.

Neinhuis Park (Broken Arrow, OK)

Broken Arrow is actually the suburb of Tulsa that I lived in for the younger years of my childhood. I lived in a neighborhood that had a community center across the street that I liked to go to for fun with my friends. Neinhuis Park also has a pool and a nice indoor basketball court. These were great amenities to have close to my house as a kid. This was the first big project that I witnessed get built as a kid. After the grand opening, the whole community of Broken Arrow gathered together to enjoy the new space. I will always remember this place because it was located directly across the street from where I lived.

Bizzell Memorial Library

Before i apply to OU I saw this picture while I was surfing the OU website. I really like the old style that is have, the windows are disened in an elegant matter, it also gives a different vibe from the other modern buildings. From the inside it has a lot of space especially when you go up to higher levels. There is a lot of books inside and on the fourth floor there is a history museum. It is really interesting  what they have in there.

McKinney Boyd

I decided to write about my high school because of the architectural beauty behind it. I attended Boyd high school freshman-senior year and made some great memories there. McKinney Boyd is home to 3,000 students and is a quarter mile long. A funny memory I have from high school is walking from one side of the building to the other during passing period. I think one semester was tardy every single day to my math class because of the long walk and lack of time between classes. The school is beautiful inside and out, likely because it is relatively new (opened in 2006).  Anyways,  I wanted to include this building because I spent so much time there on a daily basis and got to know so many people. I still pass by it on my way home from Norman and love visiting when I get the chance.  Honestly, it took me a few years to really realize how pretty and well structured the school is compared to the majority of the other schools in the U.S.

The BOK Center (Tulsa, OK)

200 South Denver Ave W, Tulsa, OK

I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Up until I was 10 years old, Tulsa never really had a structure or event center that made it stand out from other big cities in the country. This building actually means a lot to me because I was able to grow up seeing the city of Tulsa grow and become more popular simply because of an event center. The BOK Center is very unique for its design and structure. The architecture of the building is so impressive with its curves and endless looking lines.Image result for bok center

Old Yankees Stadium

Yankee Stadium aerial from Blackhawk.jpg

Ever since I was a kid, my family has been die hard New York Yankee fans. This is a photo of the old Yankees stadium prior to its demolition after the 2008 MLB season. This building is meaningful to me because some of my earliest memories are when my grandpa would take me and my 2 older brothers to yankees games. I can never forget the feeling I would get when we would drive to  a game and I could see the stadium from half a mile away as we approach. Who could ever forget Derek Jeter’s face-busting, diving play into the stands in a 2004 playoff game? I surely cannot. The ballpark opened in 1923 and lived to almost 90 years old before the Yankees opened up a new home. It is one of the most popular stadiums in the history of sports and is quite fascinating. Though the place was pretty run down during my childhood, I still get chills when I see pictures of it because it brings back experiences that I’ll remember forever. Go Yankees.

The Oklahoma City Memorial

Though I am not from Oklahoma City, nor was I alive for the Oklahoma Memorial, I visited the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial and it impacted me greatly. This memorial brought me both positive meaning and sorrow. This memorial brought positive meaning to me because it shows respect and remembrance to those fallen in the horrific bombing, each and every individual in a grand way. It gave me a little look along with the stories to show how the city came together in respect for those innocent lives taken. On the contrary, this structure brought me sorrow for those that died and for their families and loved ones. This tragic event changed the lives of many for the rest of their days. The body of water in the middle surrounded by the individual chairs for each person and lights made for a jaw-dropping experience filled with mixed emotions. Though I was not affected by the event itself, its legacy and remembrance will stick with me for the rest of my life.

Adams Hall, Price College of Business

Adams Hall is a very notable structure on OU’s campus. With its large size, cool architecture, and nationally known school inside, it is one of OU’s main attractions in my opinion. This building is meaningful to me because of my connection to this building. Not only am I a business major and study in this building, but my father and older brother graduated as business majors at OU and did the same while here. Through middle school and high school looking forward to attending this school, I would gaze at the structure excited for my future here. Now a day, I look at this structure as a goal of graduation and my gateway to my professional life. These are the reasons Adams Hall has such a meaningful value and positive experiences on me.

Sagrada Familia

This is a photo of the Sagrada Familia. I got to see it in person in March during a trip to Barcelona. The Sagrada was undoubtedly the most intriguing building that I have ever seen. The attention to detail was amazing and it didn’t even matter that it was not complete. I was fascinated how each side of the building referenced a different part of the Bible and told a story. The most memorable part of this experience was watching other people’s reactions to the building. I got to see several of Gaudi’s masterpieces while I was in Barcelona and learned a lot about his life which was very rewarding.

The Cow House

1023 College Ave., Norman, OK

The Cow House here in Norman is a very meaningful structure to me. This house has been in my family for about 80 years, first owned by my great grandparents. Growing up, my grandparents lived in this house causing it to be a frequent stop throughout my childhood for OU game days and holidays. In addition to this, my father lived there in college so I have seen many photos of it in my family history. My older brother moved into this house his junior year of college and lived there for two years till he graduated. My freshman year, I spent much time with him there as well. Next year I will be moving there for my final year at OU. I still spend lots of time there with my cousin who currently lives at the house. Its heavy presence in my life brings great memories and a strong meaning to me today. I get to think about fun time in the past, and great things to come there in the future.
