Tinkle House

The Tinkle House created by O’Neil Ford might be one of his most iconic structures besides his Tower in San Antonio. This older structure was created with far more intricate designs than most houses and this still stands true today. The inside includes different levels with their own unique style. This house has become a very well known structure and has stood the test of time.

Denton Civic Center

The Denton Civic Center created by O’Neil Ford. This structure helps show his diverse array of designs he has used over the decades. This building is multifunctional and uses different styles to create its shape. The curved top helps create a distinct look among many others within the area. Ford was very good at creating distinct structures.

Little Chapel in the Woods

This incredible chapel created by O’Neil Ford is one of the most aesthetically pleasing structures he has created in my opinion. The chapel is located in Denton, Texas. The inside of this structure is perfectly symmetrical and embodies a real chapel feel. Use of wood and stone/brick create a sturdy, yet beautiful structure.

Tower of the Americas

This is a very famous building by architect O’Neil Ford in San Antonio, Texas. I have actually visited this building in person and it is incredible. There is a restaurant located on the top floor. This building was originally created for part of the Worlds Fair decades ago. The tall slim structure towers over the skyline once you are inside. I was astounded by this building when I saw it in person.

Gold Dome

The meaning of this building to me was a strange one. My freshman year I went to Oklahoma City University which was only a few blocks away from this building. I had never seen it before and I was confused yet intrigued. When I drove up to the building and observed closer I quickly was  in love with it. I still to this day have not seen another building like this one. My overall feelings towards this building are ones of respect to the entire design team as well as admiration.

Devon Auditorium

The meaning of this building is something that is hard for me explain. I have always been drawn to this building for quite some time and just cannot figure out why. The entire aesthetic around it is just comforting yet introspective. My experience when I first encountered this building was great. I stood in the small grass field right outside and stared for several minutes as I took in the structure of this auditorium. This is by far one of my favourite structures in Oklahoma.

The meaning of this building is pretty important if you’re from the Oklahoma City area or Oklahoma in general. This has become a staple among the Oklahoma skyline and has also added a bit more character to the city of OKC. When I first encountered this building years ago it was incredible. I had never seen something like this here in Oklahoma. The way the blue sky and clouds reflected off of the massive glasses panels that make up h thy e building was astounding. It made me feel proud to be from here.
