Melton Library and Learning Hub
fjmt was commissioned by Melton City Council to deliver the new Melton Library and Learning Hub. The site located in the old township of Melton housed the outdated 1970s original municipal library and community hall. The brief was to provide a new contemporary library and community hub for the local community. Featuring a double-height reading space, multiple community meetings, theatrette, and multi-purpose training spaces, the project has a high environmental agenda and will provide a new central civic space for the people of Melton.

Bunjil Place is an example of a new form of community and civic building. It is not a single-use or single facility that tends to divide and separate a community by interest, education or culture, but an inclusive hybrid form of a public building, reflecting and embracing diversity. The architecture began to form around the idea of an organic meeting of many paths, literal pathways but also paths of life. This gathering takes place under the protective and sheltering wings of a great roof.It is an architecture that embraces new technology and innovation to express eternal and timeless themes true to the unique nature of this place. This place is truly a place worth traveling for!
Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica of Saint John the Baptist
Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica of Saint John the Baptist
While visiting recently visiting Puerto Rico in my vacations, I was able to capture this beautiful glance at the Catedral at Old San Juan in Puerto Rico. I would admit, from the outside the cathedral is very simple and wasn’t expecting the amazing interior. This cathedral was originally built in 1521, although this cathedral was struck by a hurricane in 1540, it was reshaped and reconstructed to the original. It actually contains the body(well remainings) of Ponce de Leon(kinda creepy). This cathedral is very popular among religious people in the city of San Juan. I really enjoyed the details of the ceilings of this cathedral. Although I haven’t been to really fancy and big cathedrals like I have seen in class, this really gave me a glimpse of the experience.
Bizzell Memorial Library
Bizzell Memorial Library
This is one of my favorite places ever! For some reason, most of the time during my days, I end up here. I have so many memories studying at the library from freshman year to my junior year. This place has helped me in my academic life so much! My commonplace is the Great Reading Room, where I’m really productive and focused on my studies. This library has a gothic style. It also reminds me of the Harry Potter buildings. It takes me back to the Harry Potter dining room. This place is one of the greatest places in OU!
Parque de Bombas, Ponce Puerto Rico
Parque de Bombas, Ponce, Puerto Rico
In my recent trip to Puerto Rico, I came across El Parque de Bombas located in Ponce, Puerto Rico. El Parque de las Bombas was a historic fire station and are one of Puerto Rico’s most notable buildings. It was originally built in 1882 as a pavilion for an exhibition, but it became Puerto Rico’s first-ever fire station. The building is two stories with a tower at each corner. When speaking in terms of structure, it is a wooden frame with a roof of zinc sheets. The most iconic and admirable part of this building is the bold red and black. It instantly draws your attention to it. It was a great place to visit and learn about Puerto Rico.
El morro – San Juan, Puerto Rico
El Morro, San Juan Puerto Rico
I went to Puerto Rico recently and encountered a few great places that left me wanting to go back next year. This is “El Morro” located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. El Morro construction began in 1953 and took more than 200 years to complete. The full name is “El Castillo de San Felipo del Morro” but it’s well known for “El Morro”. While visiting the My experience was great in the morro, the view was great. I saw that it still had some of the cannons that faced the oceans. Overall, it was a great experience!
