O’Neil Ford Part 4

Related image

Although Ford was known for his one story prairie style houses, he still dabbles in bigger houses because after all that just meant more space to connect with nature. The back patio of this house is shown to have a plethora of windows connecting the outside with inside. This house however is made of paneling instead of brick an stone like his other houses. While personally this gives off a cheaper look, the color scheme still goes along nice with the house creates a bright space of natural light. This house is made for someone who doesnt mind a glare on their TV.

This home by O’Neil Ford really shows his love for windows. Windows are walls with endless possibilities. Ford would place windows strategically in the house to make it seem as if the house extended on forever into the nature. The open window design once again shows the love Ford had with nature. This house is a timeless look. The modern feel of the rectangular design but still having the homey, cabin feel is what Ford was known for best

O’Neil Ford Part 2

As you can see in the picture O’Neil Ford continues his efforts at bringing nature as close to inside the home as possible. Trees are a sign of life and prosperity with brings a clam tranquil presence to them home. The metal roofing is also a great addition as it adds to the cabin feel of the house. The light colored bricks highlight the greenery around it. Southern comfort at its finest.

O’Neil Ford is known as the grandfather of current Texas Architecture. This house designed by ford is a one story house with lots of windows and a car port in teh driveway, which was ahead of his time. The squares and rectangular shapes the homes bring are still incorporated in modern architecture today.  In the south people appreciate nature and Ford tries to incorporate that into his design.

Cedar Hill Roller Rink (POST 8)

The Cedar Hill Roller Rink is no amazing architectural build but it still means a lot to me. To me, this building proves that a building doesnt have to be super extravagant and pretty for it to mean something to you. This run down skating rink might as well be the Taj Mahal to me. This place holds a sentimental value that ill forever cherish. The excitement and freedom to be dropped off at the skating rink with your friends is awesome. This small baby blue building is old and full of history, stories, and smiles.

Texas Live (POST 7)

Texas Live is the new entertainment complex close to AT&T stadium and the new Rangers Stadium. When I first encountered this place I could feel the electric vibes i the air. The modern sports theme is a very cool atmosphere to be in. This place feels like a mini vacation place when you walk into it. It doesn’t feel like Arlington Texas but something with more tradition such as Boston or St. Louis. The architecture and placement of buildings is really cool. I cant wait to go back and feel the excitement in the air.

Lewisville DMV (POST 6)

This building gives me mixed emotions. Personally I really enjoy the new DMV building in my hometown. Compared to the old DMV with moldy walls and lights that were barely on, this building is a lot prettier to look at. However despite the architecture being better on this building, it isnt pretty enough to distract you from the long lines that it always has. I feel as if there could be a more efficient way to design a building that doesnt force the people waiting in line to eventually have to wait outside. Im happy the eye sore old DMV is gone but all they did was take away history without replacing it with something sustainable.

Reunion Tower Dallas (POST 5)

The Reunion Tower is a Dallas staple. At 560 feet tall and a rotating ball that can be seen lit up from up to 15 miles away this is definitely one of the coolest buildings in Dallas. In the ball there is a cafe for fine dining and also a spot to stop and look at the 360 panoramic view with super power cameras. Every time Im in the city and see the ball It fills me with joy.

Blog 4- Great Wolf Lodge

In my opinion the Great wolf Lodge is a little kids fantasy. When I was little every year I would ask to go to this place for my birthday. I think a combination of the eye catching detail of the word architecture and the way they include a water park in it make it a very visually appealing place for all ages. The parents dont mind it because even though it is structured for kids, there is a sophisticated beauty behind all the detail involved(and there is a bar). Great Wolf Lodge does a great job of making you feel like you arent in the middle of Texas which I think people look for when they go on a local vacation.

Blog 3- AT&T Stadium

First glance at AT&T stadium and you are dumbfounded by size of it. With its beautiful LED lights circling it keeping it lit up at all times a day, and the huge letters on the top that say AT&T Stadium i wouldnt be surprised if you could see this bad boy from space.  Every time i encounter this building I get feelings of joy and excitement and can almost smell the popcorn coming from inside. I remember trying to walk to the other side of the stadium and it took forever. THe size and amount of people there make it seem like you are in a never ending loop of football stadium.
